ANNOUNCEMENT

Oslo Runway explores the links between innovation and design in partnership with Polestar

With a complete lack of compromise, a strong focus on both transparency and aesthetics, the Polestar luxury el-cars are a perfect match for the Oslo Runway logi

In a partnership extending beyond the actual cars, Oslo Runway and Polestar will explore the worlds and industries of fashion, innovation and design for the upcoming season in August 2024.

- At Oslo Runway we are really inspired by Polestar’s purpose. Turning the desirable choice and the right choice into the same one, is not easy, but it is what creates change. We are proud to be partnering with Polestar. They show a radical, and much needed, industry transparency around the production and carbon footprint of their cars, says CEO of Oslo Runway Elin O. Carlsen.

The Polestar cars - built on minimalistic design, innovative technologies and user-friendly solutions - will safely transport several of this season’s exciting guests as they move around our capital during the Oslo Runway event program.

Making space for new design talents

In addition to the cars, the Polestar Space in Oslo will host this year’s Talent Showroom, featured on the official Oslo Runway program. Providing a highly suitable showcasing space for 5 selected brands who are believed to be Norway’s up-and-coming talents.

The Oslo Runway Talent Showroom at Polestar Space Oslo, Øvre Slottsgate 7, will be open to the public August 27-31. Presenting innovative modes of expressions and some of Norway's most exciting design talents: Othilie Romberg, Johanna Lundell, Sais, Murlong Cres & Tarinii - in a space curated by Oslo Runway’s own Head of Art, Ali Shah Gallefoss.

- The showroom acts as a gallery and allows you to admire the designer's work on a deeper level. By touching  the garments and listening to the designers' visions, we invite you to really get to know their brands through an up close experience, says Oslo Runway’s Head of Fashion Sunniva Hartgren.

Co-hosting industry meet-up and talk with Alec Leach

To celebrate the launch of the Oslo Runway program in August, the industry organizations NF&TA, Norwegian Fashion Hub and Oslo Runway invites Norwegian fashion-, sport- and lifestyle brands to an enjoyable industry meet-up at the Polestar Space, Oslo.

There will be a talk and Q&A with Alec Leach, former Highsnobiety editor, now fashion expert and critic with a focus on sustainability, and author of the book "The World Is On Fire But We're Still Buying Shoes". This is his first time in Norway - we are looking forward to it!

Finding ways to merge fashion, innovation and design

Polestar and Oslo Runway bond around the idea that the most attractive product should also be the preferred solution without compromising on design. Comfortable, accurate transport running on green energy, is an important part of making sure the busy Oslo Runway schedule runs smoothly.

- At Polestar our vision is to accelerate the shift to a more sustainable future through design, innovation and technology. To accelerate this shift, we need to create products that both looks and feels better than the alternative. We are proud to partner up with Oslo Runway who shares our vision and values, and we look forward to open our doors to up-and-coming talents. Together we hope to inspire the design of tomorrow, says Joakim Lien, Head of Marketing at Polestar Norway.

In partnering up with Polestar for the first time, Oslo Runway is allowed to take another exciting step in the pursuit of our passion to create a platform finding ways to merge the industries of fashion, innovation and design.
