ANNOUNCEMENT
For several years in a row, Steen & Strøm has played a crucial part in creating, developing and maintaining our platform to show and celebrate Norwegian design. Their continued support has been, and continues to be, an essential part of Oslo Runway - thanks to efforts that extend way beyond financial funding.
Key partner
Out of Oslo Runway’s 10 running years, Steen & Strøm has been a key partner for 6 consecutive years. Together, we have hosted exciting events such as the Official Opening Dinner and Party, the Tribute Award ceremony and Oslo Runway By Night.
Steen & Strøm on providing a physical platform
Steen & Strøm acknowledges its unique position when it comes to the ability to bridge local talent and customers. The department store aims to be a stepping stone for Norwegian design, and partnering with Oslo Runway to support the local fashion industry, is an important part of this. For several years, they’ve been providing up-and-coming Norwegian designers with visibility and trading opportunities.
— We believe Norwegian design has immense potential and it’s hugely important to enable a stage for local, national, and regional designers. At Steen & Strøm we are playing a small part in helping the industry grow by giving both up-and-coming and established brands the visibility they deserve, says David Wilkinson, Executive Director at Steen & Strøm.
By developing the local offering, Wilkinson continues, an entire industry and ecosystem can thrive.
Introducing Talent Award by Steen & Strøm
Launching at ORW25, Oslo Runway and Steen & Strøm will collaborate in awarding the Talent Award by Steen & Strøm to up-and-coming talents selected among the fashion graduates from the three schools ESMOD, Oslo Met and KHiO (Oslo National Academy of the Arts).
Commitment through time, knowledge, experience
One of many examples on how Steen & Strøm, with Wilkinson and Kaia Kongsli, Head of Marketing, in the lead commits to being a stepping stone for Norwegian design talent is our upcoming collaboration in London. Partaking in the introduction of Norwegian brands to the British market, by taking them on a retail visiting tour in London in collaboration between Innovation Norway, Norwegian Fashion Hub, and Oslo Runway.
— What is the best thing that you can provide for an emerging designer? Fundamentally, it’s a platform, space, time, and your energy. For me, all those things are super important, Wilkinson underlines.
